Sudan 1985-2009

Our long involvement in Sudan began with the rehabilitation of a hospital in Kassala that JHCO provided with 28 medical staff from 1985-1990.

During this time, JHCO undertook two projects to improve the water and electricity networks of Kassala. Modern irrigation systems as well as water-distribution points and reservoirs were established to improve the water security of the state. In addition, JHCO built a new electricity station to help provide electricity to the state’s numerous inhabitants.

From 2004-2005, JHCO provided two medical teams to help treat those affected during that crisis. In addition, JHCO has contributed to the relief efforts during periods of drought and floods through shipments of various relief items.
